CRG Pulse - Privacy Policy Statement

This privacy statement applies to CRG Pulse, owned and operated by CRG Global, Inc. specializing in Market Research. CRG Global, Inc. has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and to inform respondents about our practices regarding personal information collected when they use the CRG Pulse mobile app and participate in our research studies. The following paragraphs disclose our information gathering and dissemination practices.
Personal Information
Personal information is any information that identifies you the research participant. You sign in to CRG Pulse with a study-issued StudyPIN, and the app identifies you by a pseudonymous, study-assigned participant identifier. Where a study provides one, a phone number may be attached to your participant record on our servers; you do not enter it in the app. CRG Pulse does not collect an email address to sign you in.
What You Directly Provide Us
Your participation in any of our studies is voluntary. When a study prompts you, you may be asked to provide personal information, upload photographs, videos, or audio, or complete short responses through CRG Pulse to complete a task. You may also submit feedback to us from within the app, which may include basic diagnostic information about your device that you choose to send.
What You Automatically Provide Us When You Use Our Services
Usage Information
CRG Global, Inc. collects information about your activity through our Services. In particular, CRG Pulse records product-use events: when a study-issued tagged product is detected in use, we record the tag's identifier and the time and date of the detection, along with the details of any prompt or task you complete. This is the core measurement of the research.
Bluetooth and Nearby-Device Detection
CRG Pulse detects study-issued Bluetooth tags placed on the products in your study kit. On Android this uses the operating system's Companion Device service; on iOS this uses Core Location region monitoring. Because these are operating-system features for detecting Bluetooth devices, the operating system requires you to grant Bluetooth and location permission before the app can detect a tag. Detection can occur in the background so that your product use is captured in the moment.
CRG Global, Inc. does not collect, store, or transmit your geographic location. CRG Pulse reads only the identifier advertised by study tags in order to record that a tagged product was used. It does not determine, record, or share where you are.
Device Information
CRG Global, Inc. collects information about your device, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging registration id, Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token, language and mobile network information.
Push Notifications
CRG Pulse sends you research prompts and reminders as push notifications. We use your Firebase Cloud Messaging registration id (Android) or Apple Push Notification service device token (iOS) solely to deliver these study prompts to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Device Photos / Videos / Audio
Because CRG Pulse is about participating in media advanced research, CRG Global, Inc. may, with your consent, collect information from your device's camera and photo/video gallery or microphone. This is done on a per-project, per-task basis.
Keep in mind that using CRG Pulse over a cellular network will use your data plan and may cost you money. CRG Global, Inc. recommends that respondents only complete Photograph, Video and Audio tasks when connected to a Wi-Fi connection.
CRG Global, Inc. is based in the United States. Although we welcome CRG Pulse respondents from all over the world, keep in mind that no matter where you live or where you happen to use our Services, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries. CRG Global, Inc. wants you to know this because the laws of the United States and those of other countries where your information is processed might not be as comprehensive or protective as laws in the country where you live. And while you're in another country, know that your information may be made available to government or law enforcement requests.
Use of this information
CRG Global, Inc. does not sell, rent, lease or loan personal information collected from its respondents to any third parties except as described in this privacy statement. Your name is never disclosed to our clients and your responses are always kept confidential. CRG Global, Inc. uses personal information strictly for research purposes only. Demographic information along with the data collected using the CRG Pulse mobile application are used to analyze your opinion, behavior, attitude and other characteristics on a particular study. This data is used in aggregate with other participants. CRG Global, Inc. may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us. Unless required or authorized by law, your personal information is never disclosed to a client or third party.
If CRG Global, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.
Opt-Out Policy
By installing the CRG Pulse mobile application and using your participant credentials in a research study, you agree to complete the required tasks outlined in the project requirements. To opt-out from CRG Pulse, please uninstall the application from your mobile device. You can optionally close your account by going to https://join.crgglobalinc.com/ and fill out the form. Make sure you select the "Please remove me from your contact list" option before submitting.
Security
CRG Global, Inc. employs strict measures to safeguard your personal information. CRG Global, Inc. follows generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to your personal information is limited to a few authorized personnel, who use this information for quality control and analysis only. Notification of Changes
If CRG Global, Inc. decides to change our privacy policy, those changes will be posted to this privacy statement, the home page, or other places deemed appropriate so that you are aware of what information is collected, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it is disclosed.

Children's Privacy
CRG Global, Inc. does not collect demographic or personal information from individuals who are under 13 years of age, without proper permission from a parent or legal guardian of this individual.
